About the position
The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona in Tucson invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Qualified candidates will have research interests broadly focused within the fields of toxicology or environmental health. We seek applicants with the capacity to establish a widely recognized, externally funded independent research program, while also contributing to the College’s teaching and mentoring mission in toxicology and environmental health.
The department has a strong history of leadership in toxicology and environmental health, with close ties to the NIEHS and the Society of Toxicology. Applicants using artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other computational approaches to solve problems in toxicology or environmental health are encouraged, including work aligned with the University of Arizona’s AI-Driven Health Innovation Initiative. Applicants with traditional laboratory-based research programs are also welcome to apply. The successful candidate will join a department with current research strengths in pharmacology, toxicology, environmental health, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutics. We seek a colleague who will contribute to our community by collaborating across those research areas, taking part in undergraduate and graduate training, and helping to strengthen the department’s programs.
