POSITION OVERVIEW
Faculty Position Summary
The School of Health and Medical Professions (SHAMP) at the
University of Idaho invites applications for a full-time,
non-tenure-track clinical faculty position in the Department of
Health Professions at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or
Clinical Associate Professor. Rank will be determined based on the
successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The faculty
member will serve as core faculty in the Doctor of Psychology
(PsyD) program and will play an important role in the continued
development and delivery of the program's clinical psychology
curriculum, student mentorship, clinical training, and scholarly
activities.
The successful candidate will have a primary emphasis on teaching
graduate courses related to their areas of expertise and clinical
scholarship within the PsyD program, as well as providing academic
advising, mentorship, professional development, and dissertation
support for PsyD students. The faculty member will also provide or
support clinical supervision of PsyD students, contribute to active
scholarship and creative activity related to their areas of
expertise, serve on dissertation and other student committees, and
participate in program and university service, including program
development and activities supporting APA accreditation.
Because the PsyD program is in its early stages of development, the
successful candidate will have meaningful opportunities to
contribute to curriculum development, clinical training
infrastructure, student mentorship and professional development,
program assessment, and the continued development of the program's
scholarly and professional identity.
The successful candidate will demonstrate broad preparation in
clinical psychology along with a clearly defined area of clinical,
scholarly, or teaching expertise. Strongest consideration will be
given to candidates with expertise in child and adolescent clinical
psychology, including pediatric psychology, developmental
psychopathology, and/or the evidence-based assessment and treatment
of children, adolescents, and families. Candidates with expertise
in clinical health psychology or behavioral medicine, particularly
integrated behavioral health and collaborative care, will also
receive strong consideration. Experience working with rural,
underserved, or medically complex populations and an interest in
interprofessional education are especially desirable.
The successful candidate must be licensed as a psychologist in
Idaho or eligible for Idaho licensure and expected to obtain Idaho
licensure within one year of appointment.
