You will lead this fungal molecular biology project, spanning from both fungal biology to evolutionary biology and genetics. This Wellcome Trust project links climate change, fungal evolution and pathogen biology. Your work will include running fungal evolution experimentation, fungal genetic manipulation and susceptibility testing.
The successful applicant will have a strong research expertise and specialist knowledge in fungal pathogen biology, or other areas of mycology, including a PhD in a relevant discipline. They will have prior relevant laboratory experience in one or more of the following areas: fungal evolutionary biology, susceptibility testing of fungal pathogens or fungal genetics, including omics. They will show initiative in developing research and methodologies, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work effectively across a team that spans environmental microbiology to clinical sciences.
